Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a number of full-time SEND Teaching Assistant roles starting in September 2026 across Chesterfield. These positions will involve providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who have experience working with children with SEND, additional needs, and challenging behaviour. Experience supporting pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), or complex learning needs would be highly beneficial.
The role will involve:
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND
- Supporting learning and development both inside and outside the classroom
- Helping to manage behaviour using positive strategies
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Working closely with teachers and the wider school team
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
To be considered, you should have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Experience supporting children with behavioural difficulties
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A commitment to supporting children's educational and personal development
