About the Role

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a dynamic, full-time role? Or perhaps you are a Cover Supervisor or Instructor looking to secure a stable position in a highly supportive school environment?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a versatile and passionate HLTA for a welcoming primary school based in Wigan. This is a full-time position working 5 days a week, starting this September. The role is initially on a temporary basis with a strong potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

As an HLTA, you will play a pivotal role across the school, stepping in to lead classrooms and maintain a high standard of learning in the absence of the class teacher or during scheduled PPA time.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

Covering classes independently to support teachers' PPA time or short-term absences.

Managing classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Adapting to different year groups quickly and seamlessly.

Collaborating with teaching assistants and class teachers to provide feedback on pupil progress.

What We're Looking For

A formal HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience/teaching qualification).

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained

You must have the legal right to work in the UK
