We are seeking a precise and proactive Education Referrals Coordinator to join our team in Accrington. In this vital role, you will act as the primary point of contact for all placement enquiries, managing the student referral process from the initial local authority or school contact straight through to final admission. Working closely with our internal SEN Team, you will manage external stakeholder relationships with Headteachers, commissioning teams, and caseworkers to ensure placements are processed efficiently, professionally, and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the central point of contact for Local Authorities, commissioning teams, mainstream schools, parents, and carers regarding student placements.
Referral Workflow Management: Coordinate and track the end-to-end pupil referral and admissions workflow across all of our educational provisions.
Consultation & Placement: Liaise directly with Headteachers and senior leadership teams to assess capacity, slot availability, and the suitability of placements.
Communication Tracking: Oversee and manage dedicated referral and enquiries inboxes, ensuring rapid, professional responses to high-volume consultations.
Data & Compliance: Maintain immaculate, up-to-date student referral records, ensuring all required statutory documentation is complete.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with the Finance Team to provide accurate data for placement invoicing, and support the wider SEN administrative team as required.
What We Are Looking For
This role is ideally suited to individuals with prior experience handling school admissions, local authority SEN consultations, or trust-wide data management.
Experience: Proven experience working within an educational setting, multi-academy trust central team, or local authority education hub is desirable.
Technical Skills: Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word and Excel) with strong database management skills.
Analytical Abilities: Excellent skills in interpreting varied, complex information and educational situations rapidly.
Qualifications & Compliance: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A*-C including English and Maths), a full UK driving license, and a current enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to undergo vetting).
To Apply: Please submit your current CV along with a cover letter outlining your background in school admissions or local authority referral processes.
