Tradewind Recruitment is looking for motivated and reliable Sports Coaches / Cover Supervisors to join our pool of support staff, working across a variety of secondary schools in Doncaster from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching or those who enjoy working with young people in a school environment. Flexible opportunities are available to suit your availability, with both day-to-day and longer-term placements.

The Role

As a Sports Coach / Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting schools by:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
• Supervising students and ensuring they remain engaged with the work provided.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Supporting PE departments and delivering practical sports sessions where required.
• Encouraging positive participation, teamwork and respect among students.
• Providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Reporting on student progress, behaviour and any issues arising during lessons.
• Working across a range of secondary schools in Doncaster.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience coaching sports, leading groups, or working with young people.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence in supervising students aged 11-16.
• A positive, adaptable and professional approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• The legal right to work in the UK.
• Relevant coaching qualifications or previous school experience (desirable but not essential).
