About the Opportunity
Sanza teaching are working with a welcoming Early Years setting in Hammersmith & Fulham seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to join their team from September 2026.
This long-term maternity cover offers the opportunity to lead SEND provision across the setting, helping to ensure that children with additional needs receive exceptional support from the earliest stages of their educational journey.

Role Summary
The successful SENCO will lead SEND provision across the setting, providing strategic oversight whilst supporting staff, children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the setting.
- Identify and assess children with additional needs.
- Develop, implement and review individual support plans.
- Work closely with parents and carers to achieve positive outcomes.
- Liaise with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and other external professionals.
- Ensure compliance with statutory SEND requirements and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Support practitioners with inclusive teaching approaches and interventions.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate SEND records and documentation.
- Support EHCP applications, reviews and annual review processes.
- Promote an inclusive culture throughout the setting.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) desirable.
- Previous experience as a SENCO within an Early Years, Nursery or Primary setting.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with families and external agencies.
Pay and Progression
Daily Rate: £213.99 - £277.60 per day PAYE
Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale.
The advertised rate reflects the Inner London Teacher Pay Range, with salary dependent upon qualifications, experience and responsibilities.
The highest rate of £277.60 per day is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or significant SENCO leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading SEND provision within an Early Years or Primary setting.
- Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and statutory SEND responsibilities.
- Successful multi-agency working and parental engagement.
- A track record of improving outcomes for children with SEND.
