Teacher of French
Languages open doors to future education, travel and employment, and this secondary school is looking to appoint a passionate teacher who can help pupils develop both confidence and practical communication skills in French.
The successful applicant will join an established Modern Foreign Languages department, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Teachers with experience of Key Stage 5 are encouraged to apply, while the ability to teach Spanish as a second subject would be an additional advantage when timetables are planned.
The school provides a structured curriculum, supportive departmental leadership and well-planned schemes of work, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality lessons and supporting pupil progress.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Prepare, plan and assess lessons that support pupil progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of mixed-ability classes.
  • Encourage confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
  • Track attainment and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Contribute positively to the wider Modern Foreign Languages department.
  • Support school policies relating to behaviour, safeguarding and attendance.
Person specification
Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Experience teaching French within a secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
  • The ability to motivate pupils and build positive classroom relationships.
  • QTS is preferred.
  • Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience teaching Spanish as a second subject would be advantageous.
  • KS5 teaching experience is welcomed but not essential.
