Teacher of French

The successful applicant will join an established Modern Foreign Languages department, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Teachers with experience of Key Stage 5 are encouraged to apply, while the ability to teach Spanish as a second subject would be an additional advantage when timetables are planned.
The school provides a structured curriculum, supportive departmental leadership and well-planned schemes of work, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality lessons and supporting pupil progress.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Prepare, plan and assess lessons that support pupil progress.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of mixed-ability classes.
- Encourage confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
- Track attainment and provide meaningful feedback.
- Contribute positively to the wider Modern Foreign Languages department.
- Support school policies relating to behaviour, safeguarding and attendance.
Person specification
Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience teaching French within a secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
- The ability to motivate pupils and build positive classroom relationships.
- QTS is preferred.
- Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.
- Experience teaching Spanish as a second subject would be advantageous.
- KS5 teaching experience is welcomed but not essential.
