About the Position

You will take full responsibility for your Year 4 class, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum while creating a classroom where children feel confident, valued and motivated to learn.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the Year 4 curriculum

  • Setting ambitious but achievable expectations for all pupils

  • Using assessment to identify gaps and inform future teaching

  • Differentiating lessons to meet a variety of learning needs

  • Establishing positive classroom routines and effective behaviour management

  • Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development

  • Working alongside teaching assistants and other support staff

  • Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress

  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers and colleagues

  • Taking an active role in the wider school community

The Teacher We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, reflective and well-organised teacher who can build strong relationships with pupils and create a classroom culture based on curiosity, respect and high expectations.

You should have:

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2

  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum

  • Excellent planning and classroom management skills

  • The ability to adapt teaching to different abilities and learning styles

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A positive and flexible approach
