Tradewind Recruitment is supporting a welcoming and supportive 3-form entry Primary School in Tower Hamlets that is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates with a background in Education, Psychology or a related subject, as well as candidates with previous Primary School-based experience who are looking to develop their career in education and SEND support.

More about the role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom and working closely with teachers and the wider support team. You will have confidence:
  • Supporting pupils with SEND on an individual and small-group basis.
  • Helping children access the curriculum and engage positively with learning.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and engagement.
  • Supporting pupils' communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities, resources and learning tasks.
  • Providing additional support to pupils who may require help with their learning or behaviour.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and the wider school team.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, calm and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, including during break and lunch times.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.
As the successful SEND Teaching Assistant, it will be to your advantage if you have previous experience working with children with SEND or within a Primary School environment. Experience or an academic background in Education, Psychology or a related subject would also be desirable.
