Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity in a supportive North London primary school?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools in the Tufnell Park area that are looking to appoint committed Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term roles starting in September 2026. These positions offer the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidates.

The Role

As a Long-Term Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across the classroom to maximise their learning and development

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and interventions

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required

  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours

  • Support children with a range of learning needs, including SEND where appropriate

  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily classroom routines

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have at least 6 months' experience working in a UK primary school

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service

  • Be available to work Monday to Friday (5 days per week)

  • Be flexible to travel to schools across both Islington and Hackney boroughs

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting children's learning

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team

Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) is highly desirable but not essential.
