We are currently recruiting a School Administrator for a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes, with an immediate start available. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to secure a long-term position within education, with the potential for a permanent appointment.
Role Overview
As a School Administrator, you will be an important part of the school's administrative team, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. You will regularly liaise with students, parents, staff, and visitors, acting as a professional and approachable first point of contact.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing reception and front office duties, including welcoming visitors and answering telephone enquiries
- Responding to emails and general enquiries from parents, students, and staff
- Maintaining accurate pupil records and supporting attendance administration
- Completing data entry and updating school databases and management systems
- Supporting admissions, transfers, correspondence, and general school administration
- Preparing documents, letters, reports, and other school communications
- Using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or similar platforms
- Supporting meetings, appointments, timetables, and administrative arrangements
- Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive pupil, family, and staff information
- Supporting safeguarding procedures and following school policies and processes
- Providing general administrative assistance to teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in an administrative or school office role
- Secondary school experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, friendly, and confident when dealing with students, parents, and staff
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office, email, and administrative systems
- Able to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy school environment
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within an educational setting
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
