Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Milton Keynes. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students develop their English language skills and achieve success both academically and socially.

The Role:

As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students whose first language is not English, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and build confidence in their communication skills. You will collaborate with teaching staff to ensure all learners can fully participate in lessons and school life.

Responsibilities:

* Supporting EAL students within the classroom across Key Stages 3 and 4

* Delivering targeted interventions to develop English language proficiency

* Assisting students with reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills

* Working with teachers to adapt learning materials where required

* Encouraging student confidence, engagement, and independence

* Supporting the integration and wellbeing of students who are new to English-speaking education

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Experience working with young people in an educational or support setting

* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by EAL learners

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students

* Additional language skills are advantageous but not essential

* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
