Job Description

Full-Time SEN Teacher - Bury (September Start)

A specialist school in Bury is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team full-time from September. This is an exciting opportunity, paid to scale, for a teacher who is committed to supporting children and young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning, development and wellbeing.

The school provides a highly supportive and nurturing environment, with a strong focus on personalised learning, communication and developing pupils' independence. Staff work closely as a team to understand each pupil's individual needs and create learning experiences that allow every child to achieve their potential.

The successful candidate will:

  • SEND experience - experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, with the ability to adapt teaching, resources and expectations to individual learners.
  • Individualised learning - plan creative and purposeful lessons that are accessible, engaging and appropriate for pupils working at different levels.
  • Positive relationships - build trusting relationships with pupils and create a calm, safe classroom where children feel valued and understood.
  • Behaviour support - use a patient, consistent and positive approach to behaviour, recognising that communication and behaviour can be closely linked.
  • Teamwork - work effectively with Teaching Assistants, families and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support.
  • Communication - confidently support pupils with different communication needs and use practical strategies, visuals and other approaches to help them engage with learning.

This full-time SEN teaching role would suit a teacher who is passionate about inclusion and wants to work in an environment where progress is measured not only academically, but through communication, confidence, independence and personal development.

Whether you are an experienced SEN Teacher or an ECT with SEN skills looking to develop your specialist experience, if you are patient, adaptable and passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, send you CV to marielle.coutin@twrecruitment.com or call 01616740138
