We are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes that is looking to appoint a dedicated English Teacher to join their team as soon as possible or from October half term 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT to become part of a collaborative English department where high expectations, strong relationships, and student achievement are at the heart of the school's approach. Both contract and permanent opportunities are available.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and purposeful English lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available depending on experience
• Inspire students through a varied curriculum covering both English Language and Literature
• Develop students' confidence in reading, writing, analysis, comprehension, and communication
• Create lessons that encourage curiosity, discussion, creativity, and independent thinking
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students across a range of abilities, including those with SEND and EAL
• Establish a positive classroom environment with clear expectations for behaviour and achievement
• Monitor student progress and use assessment effectively to support improvement
• Work closely with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and effective teaching practice
• Contribute to literacy projects, enrichment activities, and the wider life of the school

About You

We're looking for an English Teacher who:

• Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Has strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature
• Is confident teaching secondary-aged students and managing a classroom effectively
• Can engage and motivate students of different abilities and backgrounds
• Has high expectations and is committed to securing the best possible outcomes for students
• Builds positive and professional relationships with both students and colleagues
• Is adaptable, enthusiastic, and keen to contribute to a collaborative department
• Values professional development and is committed to continually improving their teaching practice
