Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for compassionate and resilient Mental Health Teaching Assistants to support students within schools across Corby. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may be experiencing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will help them engage with their learning, build confidence, develop positive coping strategies, and achieve success both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Support students with emotional regulation and wellbeing.
Encourage engagement in lessons and school activities.
Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support strategies.
Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe learning environment.
Act as a positive role model and mentor for young people.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals.
A background in education, youth work, support work, care, psychology, sports coaching, or mental health services is desirable.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations.
A genuine passion for supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
