Job Description

Teaching Assistant - Re-engagement & Challenging Behaviour

Wolverhampton | Make a Difference Every Day

Are you energetic, patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed?

Do you have the ability to connect with children who may have lost their way in education? Can you build trust, think outside the box and turn a difficult day into a positive one?

If so, we want to hear from you!

We're looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team in Wolverhampton, supporting children and young people who may display challenging behaviour, struggle with engagement or have found mainstream education difficult.

This isn't your typical Teaching Assistant role. Every day is different, and every small breakthrough matters.

What will you be doing?

You'll be working closely with children and young people to help them re-engage with learning, build confidence and discover their potential.

Your day could involve:

  • 🧠 Supporting pupils with challenging or complex behaviours.
  • 🎯 Helping young people set goals and recognise their achievements.
  • 📚 Encouraging pupils to reconnect with education and learning.
  • 💬 Building positive, trusting relationships and becoming someone they can rely on.
  • 🛠️ Using creative and engaging activities to make learning enjoyable.
  • 🌱 Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and personal development.
  • 🤝 Working alongside teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support.
  • 💪 Encouraging pupils to make positive choices and take responsibility for their actions.
  • Celebrating the small wins - because sometimes getting through the door, joining a lesson or completing a task is a huge achievement.

Why this role?

Because you can genuinely change a young person's direction.

You may be the person who helps a pupil realise that education isn't something they've failed at - it's something they can succeed in.

You'll see the frustration, the setbacks and the difficult days, but you'll also see the moments that make the job incredibly rewarding:

"I actually enjoyed that."
"Can I do it again tomorrow?"
"I finished it!"

Those moments are what make this role special.

If you're ready for a challenge...

If you're looking for a role where you can build meaningful relationships, think creatively, have fun, make a real difference and help young people get back on track, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and become part of a team that's helping young people see a different future.
