Humanities Teacher - Bolton

Start Date: After October Half Term
Duration: October Half Term - Easter 2027
Contract: Full-time, long-term agency position
Salary: £180-£240 per day, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Bolton who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Humanities Teacher to join their team after the October half term.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Humanities specialist looking for a full-time, long-term position through to Easter 2027, within a supportive and well-established secondary school.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a dedicated Humanities department and deliver engaging lessons across the secondary age range.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teaching one or more Humanities subjects, such as History, Geography or Religious Education, depending on your specialism.
  • Inspiring students to develop their knowledge, critical thinking and understanding of the world around them.
  • Preparing and delivering lessons that cater for a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and creating a positive classroom environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department.
  • Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

The school is looking for a teacher who can bring their subject to life, build positive relationships with students and maintain high expectations for both behaviour and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Humanities Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Humanities within a secondary school.
  • Has strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, RE or another relevant Humanities discipline.
  • Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Can deliver engaging lessons to students of varying abilities.
  • Is passionate about their subject and committed to improving student outcomes.
  • Is reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable.
