Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist SEMH school in Corby that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This rewarding role is ideal for graduates with a Psychology background or individuals who have experience supporting young people with additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Supporting students with emotional regulation and wellbeing.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategies.
Encouraging engagement in learning and promoting positive behaviour.
Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A Psychology degree or relevant qualification/experience.
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH, SEN or mental health setting.
A calm, patient and resilient approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A genuine passion for supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
