Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist SEMH school in Corby that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This rewarding role is ideal for graduates with a Psychology background or individuals who have experience supporting young people with additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and wellbeing.

  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategies.

  • Encouraging engagement in learning and promoting positive behaviour.

  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Psychology degree or relevant qualification/experience.

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH, SEN or mental health setting.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
