Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist setting in Corby. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may face challenges with emotional regulation, anxiety, behaviour, trauma, or other mental health needs. You will provide both academic and emotional support, helping to create a positive and nurturing learning environment where students can thrive.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs both in and out of the classroom.

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Assisting with learning activities and helping students remain engaged in lessons.

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.

  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals.

  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, support work, or a similar setting.

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • An understanding of SEMH needs and the challenges some young people face.

  • A genuine passion for supporting students' wellbeing and educational development.

  • Psychology graduates and aspiring teachers, counsellors, therapists, or educational psychologists are encouraged to apply.
