Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Corby. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with their social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and helping them overcome barriers to education.
The successful candidate will provide both academic and emotional support to students, helping them develop confidence, emotional regulation, positive relationships, and a more positive attitude towards learning.
The Role:
Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Providing emotional and pastoral support throughout the school day.
Supporting students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
Helping students engage with learning and classroom activities.
Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs.
Helping maintain a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, support work, or a similar setting.
A calm, patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
Understanding of SEMH and the challenges young people may face.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence supporting students who may display challenging behaviour.
A genuine passion for supporting young people's wellbeing and development.
Psychology graduates, youth workers, support workers, and aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply.
