We are partnering with a thriving and inclusive secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join their team immediately.
This full-time opportunity is available on either a contract or permanent basis and would suit both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their teaching career within a supportive school community.
The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
Deliver engaging and well-planned English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 teaching available for suitable candidates
Foster a love of reading through a broad range of classic and contemporary literature
Develop students' writing, analytical, and communication skills through creative and challenging lessons
Differentiate learning to ensure every student can achieve their potential, including those with SEND and EAL needs
Create a positive classroom environment where curiosity, discussion, and independent thinking can flourish
Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
Build positive relationships with students and maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
Play an active role within the English department and contribute to enrichment opportunities and the wider life of the school
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Has excellent subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English Language and Literature
Delivers engaging lessons that motivate and challenge students of all abilities
Has strong classroom management skills and consistently high expectations
Is confident adapting lessons to meet the needs of different learners
Enjoys working cooperatively with colleagues and is committed to continuous professional development
Is an ECT or experienced teacher looking to make a positive contribution within a supportive school
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
