Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive secondary school setting in Corby. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing, mental health, and personal development.
The successful candidate will work closely with students who may be experiencing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, helping them to engage positively with their education and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Building positive relationships with pupils who may present with SEMH needs.
Helping students regulate emotions and develop coping strategies.
Encouraging engagement in lessons and school activities.
Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to provide the best support for students.
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, youth work, care, or support setting.
A genuine passion for supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging situations.
An understanding of SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.
A willingness to learn and develop within the role.
