Are you a Care Worker looking to take your experience into education?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for Care Workers and Support Workers who are interested in moving into education-based roles. Your experience in care can be highly transferable to schools and alternative provision settings, particularly where pupils require additional support with their physical, medical, emotional or behavioural needs.

We are interested in hearing from people with experience across a range of care environments, including:

• Children's residential homes supporting young people with a range of needs
• Elderly care homes supporting adults with physical or medical needs
• Domiciliary care supporting individuals in their own homes
• Supporting people with physical disabilities, complex needs or medical conditions
• Experience with personal care, moving and handling, hoisting or mobility support
• Supporting individuals with communication needs or additional learning needs
• Experience working with young people experiencing challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or trauma
• Care, support or mentoring experience within the community or residential settings

What could you be doing in a school?

As a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, you could be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within a small class environment. Depending on the setting, this may involve providing personal care, supporting mobility and physical needs, helping with communication, assisting with learning activities, or providing consistent pastoral and behavioural support.

You do not necessarily need previous school experience. We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring their existing care experience, patience, resilience and understanding of individual needs into an educational environment.

Roles are available across SEN schools, mainstream schools and alternative provision settings, with opportunities ranging from part-time days to full-time positions.
