Job Description
Youth Mentor - SEMH Support
Do you have experience supporting young people and a genuine passion for helping them overcome barriers and reach their potential?
Are you a Youth Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker, Coach, or someone with experience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs?
If so, Tradewind Recruitment would love to hear from you.
We are working with a supportive and inclusive SEMH provision in Stockport that is looking for compassionate, resilient, and committed individuals to join their team and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
The pupils you will support may experience anxiety, ADHD, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and behaviours that challenge. Many have faced significant barriers both inside and outside of education and require adults who are patient, consistent, understanding, and willing to see the person behind the behaviour.
You will become a trusted adult, a positive role model, and someone who helps young people believe in themselves and recognise what they are capable of achieving.
The Role
As a Youth Mentor, you will provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience, positive behaviours, and the skills they need to engage successfully with education. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where pupils feel understood, supported, and able to succeed.
