Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Location: Corby

Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive educational setting in the Corby area.

This rewarding role involves supporting students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with mental health and SEMH needs.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students.

  • Support pupils in managing their emotions, behaviour and wellbeing.

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategies.

  • Encourage student engagement and participation in lessons and activities.

  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with mental health, SEMH, behavioural or additional needs.

  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people experiencing mental health difficulties.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Patience, resilience and a proactive approach to supporting students.

  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
