Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HLTA/ECT or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in M6, Salford, through Tradewind Recruitment.

This is a full-time position until December half term, ideal for an experienced TA who is looking for a role with increased responsibility or an HLTA who is confident working across the school.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide classroom and learning support across the school and will be expected to confidently take on HLTA-level responsibilities when required.

You may be asked to lead lessons or learning activities, cover classes, deliver interventions and provide targeted support to pupils, while working closely with class teachers and the wider school team.

The role will include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the primary school
  • Taking responsibility for HLTA-level classroom cover when required
  • Leading lessons and planned learning activities
  • Delivering interventions and targeted support
  • Working with pupils across different year groups and abilities
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs where required
  • Managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
  • Working closely with teachers to support pupil progress
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone with strong and recent primary school experience who can quickly settle into the role and work confidently with pupils and staff.

You should have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience working in a primary school
  • Previous HLTA experience or be a Level 3 TA confident stepping up to HLTA duties
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience supporting learning across different year groups
  • A calm, confident and proactive approach
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
