Tradewind Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield, starting ASAP.

As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across the secondary age range. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour, while supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons in line with the school's curriculum.

• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.

• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

• Promote high standards of literacy, communication and written and spoken English.

• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.

• Maintain accurate records of assessment and student progress.

• Attend departmental and school meetings where required.

• Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.

• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• A commitment to raising student achievement and expectations.
