Autism Teaching Assistant - Sheffield

Tradewind Recruitment are working with an established school trust in Sheffield to recruit experienced Autism Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist setting.

The children have very high levels of need, so we are looking for confident, resilient and experienced Teaching Assistants with excellent behaviour management skills who are comfortable supporting pupils with complex needs.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with Autism and complex additional needs

• Using positive and effective behaviour management strategies

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

• Supporting learning, communication and emotional development

• Working closely with teachers and support staff

• Maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment

This Autism Teaching Assistant role is based in Sheffield and would suit candidates with experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEND or challenging behaviour.

Pay: £95-£125 per day

The daily rate offered will depend on:

• Experience: Strong relevant experience supporting pupils with Autism and/or complex needs may be considered for the higher end of the scale.

• Behaviour Management: Excellent behaviour management skills and experience handling challenging situations will be highly valued.

• Availability: Consistent and flexible availability can be a factor when determining the rate.
