A large 3-form entry primary school in Uxbridge is looking for a Year 2 Teacher to join its team from November 2026 on a long-term basis, with the role running until the end of the academic year.

The school has a diverse school community, established teaching teams and a focus on high expectations for pupils' learning and behaviour. With three classes across each year group, teachers have opportunities to work collaboratively, share ideas and support consistency across the curriculum.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 2 class during an important year in primary education, helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and core skills as they prepare for the transition into KS2.

The Role

You'll be responsible for a Year 2 class, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum while supporting pupils' progress throughout the year.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering lessons across the Year 2 curriculum.
• Teaching English, maths and foundation subjects.
• Preparing pupils for the end of KS1, including phonics and reading development where appropriate.
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting lessons to meet different learning needs.
• Maintaining positive behaviour and clear classroom routines.
• Working closely with the parallel Year 2 teachers to share planning and resources.
• Supporting pupils' academic progress, confidence and personal development.

Who Should Apply?

The school is open to applications from both ECTs and experienced primary teachers.

You'll need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Primary teaching experience, ideally in KS1.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
• A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a team.
