Estates Technician

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Estates Technician to join our team in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across our buildings and estates, helping to ensure that our facilities are safe, well maintained, compliant and fit for purpose.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has good practical skills and is comfortable working independently as well as as part of a wider estates team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across buildings and facilities.
• Undertake general repairs and maintenance, including basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and building works.
• Identify faults and arrange or undertake appropriate remedial works.
• Complete routine inspections and maintenance checks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any outstanding issues.
• Work with contractors and external service providers when required.
• Assist with compliance checks and statutory maintenance requirements.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Support the wider Estates team with day-to-day facilities and maintenance requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in an estates, facilities, maintenance or building services role.
• Has good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Is confident carrying out general maintenance and repairs.
• Can work independently and manage their own workload.
• Has good communication and organisational skills.
• Takes a professional and proactive approach to their work.
• Understands the importance of health and safety.
• Is reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly when required.
• Holds a full UK driving licence [if applicable].

Qualifications & Experience

A relevant trade qualification or equivalent practical experience would be advantageous. Experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry/joinery, decorating, mechanical maintenance or general building maintenance would be beneficial.

Relevant qualifications may include: NVQ, City & Guilds or other recognised trade/maintenance qualifications.

Location

The role will be based across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding Staffordshire area, with travel between sites as required.
