We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Walsall.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting students who may experience challenges with behaviour, engagement, attendance or emotional regulation.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, pastoral staff and families to help improve behaviour, engagement and attitudes to learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring for students who require additional behavioural or pastoral support.
Building positive, trusting relationships with students and acting as a consistent and positive role model.
Supporting students to understand and manage their behaviour and make positive choices.
Helping students develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation and social skills.
Supporting students to re-engage with learning following behavioural incidents or periods of difficulty.
Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff to implement individual behaviour and support strategies.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school, education, youth work or pastoral setting.
Has a calm, consistent and positive approach to managing challenging behaviour.
Can establish strong professional relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Is resilient, patient and able to remain composed in challenging situations.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Can work effectively as part of a wider pastoral and safeguarding team.
Is committed to inclusion and believes that every young person can make progress with the right support.
Is organised, proactive and able to use initiative.
Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
