Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEN)
Location: Southport
Start Date: October 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term / Potential Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Southport, from October 2026.
You will work within the school's dedicated SEN provision, supporting their EYFS class, dealing with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
This is a rewarding role for someone confident working with children with complex SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and behaviours that can present significant challenges.
The successful candidate will need to be calm, resilient and experienced in deescalation, with the ability to support pupils through periods of deregulation and distress, while maintaining a consistent and nurturing approach.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working with children with complex SEND
- Be confident managing and deescalating challenging behaviour
- Have a calm, patient and consistent approach
- Be able to build strong relationships with pupils and respond to their individual needs
- Work effectively as part of a wider SEN and teaching team
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
