About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the SEND team to support students with a range of additional learning needs.
You will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, develop confidence and independence, and overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEND.
- Support students across a range of curriculum areas.
- Help students develop confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to implement appropriate support strategies.
- Support students with communication, cognition and learning needs, social and emotional needs, and other additional needs.
- Reinforce learning and assist students in overcoming barriers to progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement within lessons.
- Build effective and supportive relationships with students.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teachers and support staff.

- Have experience working in an educational setting, ideally within a secondary school.
