We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Newham.

This rewarding long-term opportunity involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including providing support for a student with diabetes in accordance with their individual healthcare plan and school procedures.

The Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEN.
  • Support a student with diabetes and assist with agreed healthcare arrangements.
  • Monitor and recognise potential signs that may require attention in line with the student's healthcare plan.
  • Follow all agreed medical, safeguarding and support procedures.
  • Assist with medication administration or medical support duties where appropriately trained, authorised and required by school policy.
  • Promote student independence, confidence and engagement in learning.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Has an understanding of diabetes awareness and supporting students with medical needs.
  • Has experience of working within healthcare, education or support settings where medical support responsibilities have formed part of the role.
