Art Technician - Secondary School

A fantastic secondary school in Newham is currently seeking an enthusiastic and creative Art Technician to join their team on a long-term, term-time-only basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for Art and Design who enjoys working in a busy school environment and supporting both teachers and students.

The Role

As an Art Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the school's Art Department. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and organising materials and resources for art lessons
• Supporting teachers with practical classroom activities
• Maintaining art equipment, tools and materials
• Ensuring art rooms and workspaces are clean, safe and well organised
• Helping students access and use equipment safely
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Art Department
• Assisting with displays, exhibitions and student artwork where required

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in an Art Technician or similar practical role
• Confident working with a range of art materials and equipment
• Organised, reliable and proactive
• Creative and enthusiastic about supporting young people
• Able to work effectively as part of a school team
• Committed to maintaining a safe and positive learning environment

Previous experience working in a secondary school is desirable but not essential.
