SEND Teaching Assistant - Prestwich | M25
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a caring, patient and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in Prestwich, M25.
The school is seeking someone who can support pupils with additional needs while also contributing positively to the wider classroom environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with additional needs
- Helping children access the curriculum
- Supporting communication and social development
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Reinforcing positive behaviour
- Supporting literacy and numeracy activities
- Working alongside the class teacher and SEN team
- Helping implement individual support strategies
- Contributing to an inclusive and positive classroom environment
The successful candidate will:
- Have a relevant Teaching Assistant, SEN, Education, Childcare or similar qualification OR
- Have at least 6 months' experience working with children in the UK, professionally or voluntarily
- Have a genuine passion for inclusion
- Be patient, calm and resilient
- Be confident supporting children with additional needs
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be reliable and professional
- Understand safeguarding and professional boundaries
