School Cleaner

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking reliable, hardworking and conscientious Supply School Cleaners to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools throughout Derby and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for cleaners who are looking for flexible work and enjoy working in a school environment.

Due to the nature of working on a supply basis, you may be required to work across a variety of school settings throughout Derby and the local area. Working hours will vary depending on the individual school's requirements, with both short-term and longer-term assignments available.

The Role

As a Supply School Cleaner, you'll play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities may include:

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas.
• Cleaning and maintaining toilets and washroom facilities.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
• Cleaning surfaces and frequently touched areas.
• Ensuring cleaning standards are consistently maintained.
• Following school health and safety and cleaning procedures.
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
• Reporting any maintenance, damage or health and safety concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
• Working effectively as part of a school cleaning or facilities team.

We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience working in a school, office, care home, hotel or other professional environment is advantageous.
• A reliable, hardworking and conscientious approach.
• Good attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• An understanding of health and safety procedures.
• The ability to follow cleaning instructions and use cleaning equipment safely.
• A flexible approach to working across different school settings.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
