  • Register students and report any attendance concerns or incidents to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations, seeking support when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to teaching staff about the lesson and student engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
  • Adapt to different school environments, age groups and subject areas.
  • Support the wider school team with additional duties where required.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • The confidence and ability to supervise classes across a variety of subjects.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions while maintaining student engagement.
  • A professional, reliable and punctual attitude.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • A genuine interest in supporting students' education, progress and wellbeing.

Essential requirements:

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • The ability to provide suitable references and complete the required pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check in line with the role.
