Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs Provision (3 Days per Week)

Location: Gym-Based Specialist Provision
Hours: 3 Days per Week, 9am -2pm

Are you a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with complex needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a unique specialist provision based within a gym environment. This exciting opportunity involves providing 1:1 support to EYFS and primary-aged pupils with complex additional needs, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence through tailored educational and physical activities.

The setting offers a highly personalised approach, combining therapeutic, sensory, and movement-based activities to support each child's individual development. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who thrives in a practical, hands-on environment.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with complex needs
  • Supporting learning through play, sensory activities, and movement-based experiences
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
  • Assisting with personal care where required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, complex needs, ASC, or developmental delays
  • A patient, resilient, and caring approach
  • Confidence building positive relationships with children and families
  • Ability to adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Team Teach, manual handling, or personal care experience is beneficial but not essential
