Job Description

We are looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in the B45 area.

This role would suit someone who can take charge of a classroom, build a good rapport with students and keep lessons on track when teachers are absent. You will need to be confident managing challenging behaviour, setting clear boundaries and ensuring students stay focused and engaged with their work.

The Role

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Managing classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
  • Ensuring students complete the work set and remain on task.
  • Following the school's behaviour policy and dealing with issues calmly and professionally.
  • Creating a positive learning environment where students understand expectations.
  • Reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate member of staff.

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong behaviour management skills. You must be able to command respect, remain calm under pressure and deal with challenging situations confidently.

Previous experience working in a secondary school would be beneficial, although we would also consider candidates with relevant experience working with young people in other settings.

You will need to be organised, approachable and able to adapt quickly to different classes and situations. Most importantly, you must be confident taking responsibility for a classroom and maintaining high standards of behaviour.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience in education or for an experienced Cover Supervisor who enjoys working in a busy school environment.

If you have the confidence, resilience and classroom management skills needed to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
