Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Bexley - January 2027

Location: Bexley, South East London
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: £115-£145 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term or flexible opportunities
Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:15am-3:30pm

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take on more responsibility?

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for confident and experienced HLTAs interested in primary school opportunities across Bexley from January 2027.

These positions are ideal for individuals who enjoy delivering lessons, supporting teachers and making a wider contribution to classroom learning.

The role may include:

• Leading whole-class learning during planned teacher absence or PPA cover.

• Delivering targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy.

• Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

• Adapting activities to meet a range of learning and SEND needs.

• Maintaining positive behaviour and a productive classroom environment.

• Working closely with teaching staff to monitor pupil progress.

Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or substantial relevant classroom experience.

• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons to whole classes.

• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Flexibility to work across different year groups.

Previous experience providing PPA cover is particularly desirable.
