The Role
You will be supporting pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
Supporting teaching staff to deliver engaging, accessible learning activities.
Assisting pupils with their social, emotional and communication development.
Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils regulate their emotions.
Providing personal care, including feeding and hygiene support, where required.
Supporting pupils with moving and handling, following appropriate training and guidance.
Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
Are patient, compassionate and resilient when working with pupils with complex needs.
Can build positive relationships and adapt their approach to individual pupils.
Are comfortable supporting personal care needs, or willing to undertake the necessary training.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Are reliable and available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
Experience supporting pupils with autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties, or complex behavioural and communication needs would be particularly beneficial.
Candidates do not need to have every specialist qualification already in place, as relevant training can be provided where required.

Opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialist SEN setting.
Support from a dedicated SEN consultant at Tradewind Recruitment.
The chance to make a meaningful difference to young people's development and independence.
