Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Long-Term Opportunity

Are you experienced in supporting children and young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or additional learning needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours and build confidence.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in education, behaviour support, youth work, residential care or similar roles.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.

• Help pupils manage emotions, develop coping strategies and improve self-regulation.

• Build positive relationships and establish clear, consistent boundaries.

• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

• Support pupils to engage with learning and develop their social skills.

• Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement individual behaviour plans.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or additional needs.

• Is confident managing challenging situations using a calm, consistent approach.

• Understands the importance of boundaries, routines and positive reinforcement.

• Is patient, resilient and able to build trusting relationships.

• May have a background in teaching assistance, behaviour support, youth work, residential care or mentoring.
