About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of secondary schools across Hounslow that are looking for experienced and reliable individuals to support with classroom cover.

We are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor who is confident managing a classroom, enjoys working with young people and has previous experience working in a UK school.

We have a range of opportunities available, from flexible daily supply to regular short-term and long-term placements. Whether you're looking to work a few days a week or want something more consistent, we can discuss options that suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular teacher.

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain focused on their work.

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

• Support students with their learning where required.

• Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of lessons.

• Follow safeguarding procedures and school expectations.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Previous UK-based experience working in a secondary school or similar educational setting.

• Experience managing groups of children or young people.

• Good classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• The confidence to work independently and adapt to different school environments.

• A professional, reliable and flexible approach.

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

• The right to work in the UK.

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Unqualified Teacher or in a similar classroom-based role would be beneficial.
