Are you a recent drama graduate looking for your first role in a school? Are you looking for more guidance on what your next steps are?
We have a large network of schools who are on the lookout for drama graduates to fill our vacancies.
Drama graduates are favoured by many schools due to the skills that they have acquired throughout their degree making them comfortable in the spotlight and this skill often translates well in classrooms, which can make keeping a class engaged and managing behaviour easier.
With high levels of confidence, an outgoing nature and generally having an ability to perform under pressure, also makes Drama Graduates the ideal candidates who can excel as teaching assistants.
From teaching jobs specialising in drama, to teaching assistants and cover supervisors, there are a wide range of opportunities for former drama students to take advantage of and we’d love to hear from you!
What opportunities are available?
Teacher
For everyone that has recently completed a PGCE degree or finished some form of formal teacher training, then we have lots of ECT roles across the UK available for you to take advantage of.
Teaching Assistant
Schools are increasingly requesting recent graduates for their teaching assistant roles, with drama graduates often favoured by schools.
The nature of university courses and the experience gained frequently means graduates are well placed to give pupils an array of academic, social and emotional support.
Cover Supervisor
Cover Supervisor roles are an ideal way for you to see if a role as a teacher is what you would like to pursue. A Cover Supervisor will provide classroom support when a teacher is away and they are tasked with ensuring that pupils behave and complete pre-prepared work. A graduate is ideal for these roles as they will have some form of subject specialism.
