SEN Teaching Assistant required for a secondary school in North London

Are you passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact on young minds? Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a "Good" school in Haringey, North London, to start after the Easter break. This is a full-time, long-term position, providing you with an excellent opportunity to contribute to the academic development of students throughout the academic year.

You will be working as part of a team to assist students who need additional support for behaviour(EBD). You will be working with various students throughout the week and helping to provide them with strategies to cope with challenging situations, helping to set clear boundaries and expectations of behaviour. You should be positive, be able to motivate disengaged students and be consistent in your approach. The school requires someone very reliable and hard working.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special needs in a secondary school with students with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)..
  • An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check on the update service (can be obtained through Tradewind)
  • A genuine passion for supporting student's learning and personal development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic educational environment.
  • A desire to explore a rewarding career in education, making a difference in the lives of young learners.
  • Graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be working with students with a range of special needs, so will need to flexible and adaptable
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with their classwork, reinforcing learning and offering guidance when needed.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and resources.
  • Provide support for students with additional needs, ensuring they can fully participate in class activities.
  • Act as a positive role model for students, encouraging their personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team, parents, and other professionals to support the overall development of students.
  • Maintain a safe and organised learning environment.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

This is a full time role, with hours of8.15am - 4pm, and the pay is £90-95 per day.
