Job Title: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (1:1 SEN)

Location: South Liverpool, Primary School

About Us: Located in the vibrant community of South Liverpool, our primary school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with SEN pupils, supporting their individual needs and facilitating their access to learning opportunities.

Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide tailored support to SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a crucial role in helping our pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 with SEN pupils, providing personalised support and assistance to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of each pupil.
  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where SEN pupils feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
  • Assist with the development of social and emotional skills, helping pupils to build confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers to support ongoing development and attainment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role, ideally with experience working with SEN pupils.
  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with SEN pupils and support their social and emotional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
  • Dedication to upholding high standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all aspects of your work.
