A rated 'Good with outstanding features', very friendly and high achieving boys' school in the Havering borough of London seeks an Australian Trained Maths Teacher from September 2019. The contract will be a TEMP to PERM with a competitive salary available in line with experience (Main Pay Scale Outer London - £27,595 - £38,963 and daily rate equivalent)

Responsibilities for this Maths Teacher Role:


This Maths Teacher role will involve teaching driven male students Senior Maths. Other responsibilities will include:

To follow the school's curriculum and assessment methodology (which are largely based on the National Curriculum)
To brainstorm creative and innovative ways to improve the boy's achievement in Maths
To attend staff meetings and parents' evenings as required out of school hours
To write progress reports for the boys
Occasional internal cover of absent staff
The school adopts a policy of supportive rigour when developing boys' academic and extra-curricular performance. Medium class sizes mean that teachers can pay close attention to their pupils and develop each boy's skills.

The ideal candidate for this Maths Teacher role will:

be experienced and/or qualified to teach Senior Maths
be a positive influence and contribute to the school's friendly, enthusiastic atmosphere
be committed to deliver a high standard of teaching and a passion to see the boys achieve
A sense of warmth and having a caring outlook
be a team player who can work collaboratively with other members of staff to ensure achievement and success within the department
Location:

The school is a short walk from a railway station that comes in from central London. The school is based in a relatively affluent area with a high rate of home ownership.

To join us and be successful in this Maths Teacher role you will need to:

Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification (i.e BEd)
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
You must have or be able to obtain the legal right to work in the UK
