This is a full time, one-year contract with a possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working 1:1 and in small groups, supporting students with EHCPs, or diagnosed SEN including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's, Mild Learning Difficulties, Global Delay, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. You will be working closely with the School's SENCO, Inclusion Manager, Education Psychologist, parents, carers and other outside agencies to provide the best support for each individual student.
This is a large Secondary School, a part of a small, yet well-received Academy Trust including a Primary school, and another Secondary school yet to open. This school provides a highly academic curriculum and disciplined environment to support intrinsic student learning. The Inclusion team at this school consists of 11 designated team members, led by a passionate, inspiring and supportive SENCO.
Serviced by Bakerloo and Overground lines, a well as an extensive local bus network, this school is easily located from North, West and Central London.
The successful candidate for this SEN Teaching Assistant position will:
*Have a passion for supporting the learning and holistic progress of special needs pupils
*Have prior experience working with Secondary School pupils
*Have prior experience working with SEN pupils
*Be adaptable, flexible and confident in your ability to assist the individual needs and learning styles of each student
*Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build rapport and successful relationships
*Work well within a team setting, be organised and intrinsically motivated
*Ensure that the well-being of students, and their individual needs are at the forefront of everything you do
