Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. SEN TA.

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children? Do you have experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) children? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in the heart of the London borough of Southwark.

Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Location: Southwark, London

Start Date: April 2024

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Term: Term time only, until the end of the academic year in July 2024. Potential to stay on in Sept 24.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the inclusion and development of SEN students within mainstream classrooms.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support as needed.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapt materials to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages academic and personal growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students in a primary school setting.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special education.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students.

Transportation: The school is conveniently located with excellent public transport routes, including local stations. Parking facilities are also available on-site.
