We are seeking an exceptional School Community Development Officer to join our dedicated team and strengthen the vital links between our school, our families, and the wider Blackpool community.

About the Role:

This is a pivotal role focused on enhancing our school's engagement within Blackpool. You will be responsible for initiating, developing, and managing a diverse range of programmes and partnerships that benefit our students and their families. This includes:

  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers, local community groups, businesses, charities, and statutory agencies across Blackpool.
  • Designing and delivering engaging initiatives that foster parental involvement in school life and pupil learning.
  • Identifying and securing external funding opportunities to support community-based projects.
  • Developing and coordinating family support programmes, workshops, and events.
  • Acting as a key liaison, signposting families to relevant local support services and resources in Blackpool.
  • Promoting the school's vision and values within the local area and celebrating our successes.
  • Recruiting, training, and supporting school volunteers from the Blackpool community.
  • Contributing to the school's overall strategy for pastoral care and well-being.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in a community development, outreach, or engagement role, ideally within an education or family support setting.
  • A deep understanding of the Blackpool community and its diverse needs.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable project management skills, with the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate successful initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and families to thrive.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
